Understanding the Requirements: Application: Enterprise-level student enrollment system. Technologies: Spring Boot MVC, Spring Data JPA, Eclipse Enterprise (Java EE), MySQL. Features: Index page with student registration and login forms. Registered students select a sport and complete enrollment details (shirts, shorts). Credit/debit card payment (without storing card information). Confirmation page, profile page, and history page for students. Profile editing for personal details. User-friendly interface with images and CSS/Bootstrap. MySQL database with Student, Sport, and Registration tables (including primary and foreign keys). Solution Outline: 1. Project Setup: Create a new Dynamic Web Project in Eclipse using Java EE. Add necessary dependencies for Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and MySQL connector. Configure Spring Boot application properties (database connection details, etc.). 2. Database Design: Create the following MySQL tables with specified fields and constraints: Student (studentId, userName/emailId, password, firstname, lastname, address, city, postalCode, stdPhone, doctorName, docPhone) Sport (sportid, sportName, duration, fee, coachName) Registration (registrationId, studentId, sportId, startDate, numberOfShirts, numberOfShorts, amountPaid) 3. Entity Classes: Create corresponding Java entity classes for the database tables using JPA annotations ( @Entity , @Table , @Id , @Column , @GeneratedValue , etc.). Establish relationships between entities using @ManyToOne and @OneToMany annotations. 4. Repositories: Create Spring Data JPA repositories for each entity ( StudentRepository , SportRepository , RegistrationRepository ). These repositories will provide CRUD operations for the entities. 5. Controllers: Develop Spring MVC controllers to handle user requests and interact with the service layer. Create controllers for: Index page (registration and login forms) Sport selection and enrollment Payment processing (using a payment gateway integration) Profile management History page 6. Services: Implement business logic in service classes (e.g., StudentService , SportService , RegistrationService ). These services will handle interactions with repositories and perform necessary operations. 7. Views: Design JSP or Thymeleaf templates for the web pages. Use Bootstrap or CSS for styling and layout. Include forms, navigation elements, and display data appropriately. 8. Payment Integration: Integrate a secure payment gateway (e.g., Stripe, PayPal) for processing credit/debit card payments. Handle payment requests, responses, and error handling. 9. Error Handling and Validation: Implement proper error handling and input validation throughout the application. Display user-friendly error messages. 10. Testing: Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and functionality. Additional Considerations: Security: Implement appropriate security measures (e.g., password hashing, input validation, authorization) to protect user data. User Experience: Focus on creating a user-friendly interface with clear navigation and informative messages. Scalability: Design the application with scalability in mind, considering potential future growth. Deployment: Consider deployment options (e.g., application server, cloud platform). Next Steps: Detailed Design: Refine the database schema, entity relationships, and user interface design. Implementation: Start coding the project, following the outlined structure and using the chosen technologies. Testing and Debugging: Thoroughly test the application and fix any issues. Deployment: Deploy the application to a suitable environment.
