Step 1: Create the Form Open Visual Studio and create a new Windows Forms App (.NET Framework) project. Design the form to match the layout in the provided image. Here's how you can add and name the controls: Add three TextBox controls for length, width, and height inputs. Name them lengthTextBox , widthTextBox , and heightTextBox . Add a Button control for calculation. Name it calculateButton and set the text to "Calculate". Add TextBox controls to display the current order details (cubic feet, cubic yards, price). Name them cubicFeetTextBox , cubicYardsTextBox , and priceTextBox . Set their ReadOnly property to true . Add TextBox controls to display the totals of all orders (total cubic feet, total cubic yards, total cost, number of orders). Name them totalCubicFeetTextBox , totalCubicYardsTextBox , totalCostTextBox , and numberOfOrdersTextBox . Set their ReadOnly property to true . Add TextBox controls for truck capacity, cubic yards ordered, and remaining capacity. Name them truckCapacityTextBox , cubicYardsOrderedTextBox , and remainingCapacityTextBox . Set their ReadOnly property to true . Add a Button control to clear the form. Name it clearButton and set the text to "Clear". Add labels next to each TextBox to indicate their purpose (e.g., "Enter Length (ft)"). Step 2: Declare Constants and Variables Open the code-behind file (MainForm.cs). Declare constants and variables at the class level: public partial class MainForm : Form { // Constants const int CubicFeetPerCubicYard = 27; const double PricePerCubicYard = 17.0; const double TruckCapacity = 4.0; // Accumulators double totalCubicFeet = 0; double totalCubicYards = 0; double totalCost = 0; int numberOfOrders = 0; public MainForm() { InitializeComponent(); } } Step 3: Implement the Calculate Button Logic Add an event handler for the calculateButton : private void calculateButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Retrieve input values double length = double.Parse(lengthTextBox.Text); double width = double.Parse(widthTextBox.Text); double height = double.Parse(heightTextBox.Text); // Calculate cubic feet, cubic yards, and price double cubicFeet = length * width * height; double cubicYards = cubicFeet / CubicFeetPerCubicYard; double price = cubicYards * PricePerCubicYard; // Display current order details cubicFeetTextBox.Text = cubicFeet.ToString(); cubicYardsTextBox.Text = cubicYards.ToString(); priceTextBox.Text = price.ToString("C"); // Update accumulators totalCubicFeet += cubicFeet; totalCubicYards += cubicYards; totalCost += price; numberOfOrders++; // Display totals totalCubicFeetTextBox.Text = totalCubicFeet.ToString(); totalCubicYardsTextBox.Text = totalCubicYards.ToString(); totalCostTextBox.Text = totalCost.ToString("C"); numberOfOrdersTextBox.Text = numberOfOrders.ToString(); // Calculate remaining truck capacity double remainingCapacity = TruckCapacity - totalCubicYards; remainingCapacityTextBox.Text = remainingCapacity.ToString(); // Change background color based on remaining capacity if (remainingCapacity >= 0) { remainingCapacityTextBox.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.LightBlue; } else { remainingCapacityTextBox.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.Red; } } Step 4: Implement the Clear Button Logic Add an event handler for the clearButton: private void clearButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Clear all fields lengthTextBox.Clear(); widthTextBox.Clear(); heightTextBox.Clear(); cubicFeetTextBox.Clear(); cubicYardsTextBox.Clear(); priceTextBox.Clear(); totalCubicFeetTextBox.Clear(); totalCubicYardsTextBox.Clear(); totalCostTextBox.Clear(); numberOfOrdersTextBox.Clear(); remainingCapacityTextBox.Clear(); // Reset accumulators totalCubicFeet = 0; totalCubicYards = 0; totalCost = 0; numberOfOrders = 0; // Reset background color remainingCapacityTextBox.BackColor = System.Drawing.SystemColors.Window; } Step 5: Add Company Label Add a Label control to the form and set its text to display your name and "Landscaping Company". // In the Designer.cs file or through the designer Label companyLabel = new Label(); companyLabel.Text = "Your Name Landscaping Company"; companyLabel.AutoSize = true; this.Controls.Add(companyLabel); Step 6: Finalize the Form Design
