Step 1: Assign Network Addresses We need to allocate addresses from the 212.10.8.0/23 range. This range provides us with addresses from 212.10.8.0 to 212.10.9.255. Subnets A, B, and C: Subnet A needs to support 120 interfaces. Subnet B needs to support 240 interfaces. Subnet C needs to support 120 interfaces. Subnets D, E, and F: These subnets are point-to-point links, each needing to support two interfaces. Let's calculate the subnet masks and addresses for each subnet: Subnet A: Needs 120 interfaces. Use a subnet mask of /25 (provides 128 addresses). Address range: 212.10.8.0/25. Subnet B: Needs 240 interfaces. Use a subnet mask of /24 (provides 256 addresses). Address range: 212.10.8.128/24. Subnet C: Needs 120 interfaces. Use a subnet mask of /25 (provides 128 addresses). Address range: 212.10.9.0/25. Subnets D, E, and F: Each needs 2 interfaces. Use a subnet mask of /30 (provides 4 addresses, 2 usable). Addresses for D, E, and F: Subnet D: 212.10.9.128/30 Subnet E: 212.10.9.132/30 Subnet F: 212.10.9.136/30 Step 2: Provide Forwarding Tables Using the assigned network addresses, we can construct the forwarding tables for each router. Router R1: Interfaces: R1A: 212.10.8.1 (Subnet A) R1D: 212.10.9.129 (Subnet D) R1F: 212.10.9.137 (Subnet F) Router R2: Interfaces: R2B: 212.10.8.129 (Subnet B) R2E: 212.10.9.133 (Subnet E) R2D: 212.10.9.131 (Subnet D) Router R3: Interfaces: R3C: 212.10.9.1 (Subnet C) R3E: 212.10.9.135 (Subnet E) R3F: 212.10.9.138 (Subnet F)
