Step 1: - Calculate Total Available Material Y: Purchase of material Y: 5,000 Kg Opening inventory of material Y: 1,100 Kg Total available material Y = Purchase + Opening inventory Total available material Y = 5,000 Kg + 1,100 Kg = 6,100 Kg Explanation: - The total available material Y is the sum of the purchased amount (5,000 Kg) and the opening inventory (1,100 Kg), resulting in 6,100 Kg available for use during the month. Step 2: - Calculate Cost of Material Y Used: Consumption of Y during the month: 5,200 Kg Cost of material Y used = (Consumption / Total available material Y) * (Purchase cost + Opening inventory cost) Let's find out the total cost of available material Y: Total cost of available material Y = Purchase cost + Opening inventory cost Total cost of available material Y = 630,000 € + 144,000 € = 774,000 € Now, plug the values into the formula: Cost of material Y used = (5,200 Kg / 6,100 Kg) * 774,000 € Perform the calculation: (5,200 Kg / 6,100 Kg) = 0.8525 Cost of material Y used = (0.8525) * (774,000 €) =659835 Explanation: - For the cost of material Y used, we first calculate the total cost of available material Y, which is the sum of the purchase cost and the opening inventory cost of 774,000 €. Then, we apply the formula by dividing the consumption during the month (5,200 Kg) by the total available material Y (6,100 Kg) to find the proportion used. Finally, we multiply this proportion by the total cost of available material Y to find the cost of material Y used, resulting in approximately 659,835 €. Final Answer: Cost of material Y used = 659,835 € So, the global purchase cost of direct material Y used is 659,835 €. Top of Form
